Ali, who has had his football journey as well with Mombasa Stars, Mombasa Wanderers, Bandari, and Harambee Stars, reminisced about his father's invaluable advice and paternal guidance.

Breik made over 36 appearances in his career between 1964 and 1970 and scored seven goals.

On September 29, 2023, Kenya's football legends gathered to pay tribute to Breik at his residence in Majengo, Mombasa County. They advocated for the government to introduce special awards honouring legends who brought fame and respect to the country during their prime.

They also called for official recognition of Breik’s significant role in Feisal FC's historic victory in 1965, securing the first national cup for a coastal side.

The gathering, attended by former Harambee Stars players, coastal legends, and football stakeholders, aimed to honour a man who contributed immensely to the sport. Bandari FC Vice Chairman Twaha Mbarak led the group in highlighting Breik's exceptional talent, especially during his time as one of the top midfielders in the national team.

Former Harambee Stars coach Mohammed Kheri stressed the importance of celebrating Breik's contributions, describing him as a source of pride for the coastal region. Bandari FC's head coach Twahir Muhiddin echoed this sentiment, urging the government to recognize Breik for his outstanding achievements.

Other notable figures present included Bandari FC Team Manager Douglas Mutua, former referee Khamis Bargazal, former Nyundo player Abdallah Shakir, and former AFC Leopards midfielder Abdul Baraza.
